On 11/9/2011 the American Legion's Post 1, its Small Business Taskforce and a group of Corporate Patriots are coming together to launch a national Jobs Growth Initiative ('JBI').  You may be thinking that there is nothing new about a JBI in these days and time, but this one is truly unique!

What is unique about this Public Private Partnering effort is its central focus, which is to stimulate Jobs Growth by empowering America's strongest economic engine (i.e., its Small Business Community)...

Walter Cotton, who is the architect of this effort and a Legion Taskforce Member, puts it this way.  "To produce sustainable Jobs Growth, America needs to identify and deliver to the Global Village that Next Big Thing...

The last Big Thing (i.e., the Internet) drove new sources of revenues into our economy as America's Small Business Community rapidly innovated around the new Idea of 'e'-everything __attracting new sources of investment while creating products and services that quickly grew in Global demand.

This is the Central Mission of the Rebuilding Our Nation Tour."

Cotton, a Service Disabled Veteran Small Business Owner himself, is among a small group of Patriots credited for delivering the Joint Venturing strategy to the Veteran Community. A strategy that lead to more than $10 Billion Dollars in Federal contract awards to Disabled Veteran Business owners, and an untold amount of Jobs Growth over the past 5 years.

He has now turned his attention to the need for innovation within the broader Small Business Community, and believes the best practices that worked for the Veteran Business Community will work for all Small Businesses (i.e., WOSB, SDB, HubZone Businesses...etc.). 

Cotton said, "The reason that I caused the 8(a) Mentor Protégé program's advantages to be extended to other preference owning business (via the Jobs & Credit Act) is because I believe that the advantages of the 8(a) Mentor Protégé program will produce an empowering effect on our Nation's innovation engine."

He also stated that, "One of the irrefutable facts that resulted from the 9/11/2001 attack on our Nation is the fact that our core adversary's primary interest has seemingly been overlooked and unaddressed.  Specifically they wanted to hurt the U.S. Economy.

Therefore, one can draw a direct and contributing correlation between the current economic downturn and the ongoing War on Terror.  On 9/12/2001, we began the process of delivering our military response to our adversaries.  On 11/9/2011 we will change the game by delivering our Economic response to the Global Village."

The 11/9 Society Event, which will be held on November 11, 2011 at the City Club of Washington, represents one of the most sought after tickets in the District, in recent years. 

In addition to unveiling the Partnership's strategy for Jobs growth, this event will honor Senator Olympia Snowe for her work on the Senate's SB Committee, produce a Mentor Protégé match making session for Large and Small Business contractors and celebrate the rich years of service of Mr. Billy Jenkins (SBA's Retiring Veterans Procurement Liaison).
