A Tool For People That Mean Business!

FOR ELIMINATING THE ROOT-CAUSE OF AMERICA'S JOBS CREATION, SPENDING DEFICIT AND SOCIAL CHALLENGES:

It has been said that:  “There is no stronger force in the Universe than an idea whose time has come.”

My sanctified imagination tells me that most Americans have faith in the idea that it is time for America to return to a season of lasting prosperity!

Therefore, I am using this writing to share a trillion dollar jobs creation and recovery strategy for America that will contribute to the outcome we all desire – the beginning of jobs creation and prosperity, which will end our deficit spending and social inequality. .

Before I start talking about this new strategy, allow me to restate my credentials...

Many people call me the “King” or “Pioneer” of the Service Disabled Veteran Own Small Business (SDVOSB) joint venturing strategy, and credit me for helping to produce a $10 billion dollar increase in federal contracts awarded to SDVOSB’s.

Although I have assiduously avoided that label for years, I recently decided to compare the numbers associated with the SDVOSB contracting before and after my involvement.

The data is irrefutable. Link to SDVOB JV Growth & Contract Dollars

More specifically, the findings, show a direct correlation between my efforts to socialize small business joint venturing and the increase in contracts that were awarded to SDVOSB JVs from 2003 foreword.

Let me put it more plainly – if you established a JV after 2003, there is enough data to state with certainty that you got the idea to JV directly from me or someone that was influenced by my work,.

Moreover, given the growth in employing the SDVOSB JV strategy in concert with social networking, I am not sure that anyone but I can make this claim:

  • Numerous JV training sessions that I lead at the American Legion and PTAC's national conferences/meetings (i.e. starting in 2003)
  • The “$8 Million Dollar Man Cover Story” in the Veterans Business Journal  published in January 2006 (VBJ is the publication that launched NAVOBA)
  • My Blog Talk Radio program (i.e. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/sdvosb)
  • The plethora of JV articles and blogs that I authored on this subject
  • The creation of the SDVOSB Social Networking website (i.e., www.sdvosbnet.biz) and so on . . .Link to Keynote Addresses

That being said, your ability to accept the role that I played in the production of the $10 billion dollar SDVOSB contracting outcome will be essential as we move into our discussion of my trillion dollar recovery strategy.

Yet, before sharing my strategy for disrupting the status quo, I must digress for a moment to speak to our nation's most pressing dilemma; I call it our “little p vs. big P issue” . . .

In my considered opinion, the root-cause of the majority of the “critical ills” that are facing our great nation today can be traced directly back to the current trend of substituting of partisanship for one of our most precious natural resources, patriotism.

I don't care how you want to argue this one, or the context of the political, economic or social case you want to build.  The facts remain above reproach – in today's America, the impact of the word partisan can be seen from Capitol Hill to the White House and from Wall Street to Main Street; in other words, from your street as well as mine.

Let’s stop for a moment and look at the difference between a partisan and patriot:

"par·ti·san __ (pär t -z n)
n. __ 1. A fervent, sometimes militant supporter or proponent of a party, cause, faction, person, or idea."

"Pa·tri·ot __ (ptr-t, -t)
n. __ 1. One who loves, supports, and is a defender of one's country."

As these two definitions show, the idea of engaging in less partisanship, more than any other single factor, would serve to fix – almost overnight – what decades of partisan administrative policies have produced (i.e., an America with a socially and economically unstable foundation).

In short, Americans would be free of partisan political conditioning.

Our collective memory cannot be so short that we do not recall the sacrifices that our founding fathers made when they came together around the idea of a “better believable dream”.

This dream yielded documents such as the Declaration of Independence; our Constitution;  motivated Jane Addams' "Newer Ideals of Peace"; Langston Hughes' "Let America Be America Again"; John F. Kennedy's Inaugural Address; and, ultimately, the Small Business Act.  I could go on, but I trust that you get the point.

The overwhelming common denominator that our forefathers and fore citizens shared was a love of our great Nation, which caused them to coalesce behind patriotism instead of partisanship whenever our way of life was threatened. We can all remember back to a time when tea parties served to unite and strengthen our powers – not dilute or divide; a time when community barn raisings were the order of the day.

This brings me to my essential message and the start of your payback for reading on:

I am a thought leader in the area of business strategy; therefore, I am not driving any political interest.  What I am attempting to bring to your attention is a gross condition in America that I often see in organizations (large and small) that fall prey to “institutional memory”. Organizations infected with this mindset often directly benefit from my business strategies. (i.e., a set of methods that help them to reveal the fallacy of institutional memory and its negative impact on the lifecycle of their businesses, product or service).

But, what is “Institutional Memory”?

Wikipedia defines Institutional Memory ("IM") as a collective set of facts, concepts, experiences and know-how that is so strongly held by a group of people that the IM transcends the individual and consequently becomes the working memory of members of a group or organization.  The resulting outcome is that Institutional Memory encourages preservation of an ideology or way of work in the group or organization.  Consequently, Institutional Memory becomes ingrained to the point that it becomes difficult, if not impossible, to challenge within the group or organization. In other words, IM threatens the health and safety of your organization just as partisanship threatens our great Nation. This is because IM retards a group or organization’s ability to be agile and adapt to critical changes within the environments – including those changes that threaten the group or organization's existence. This is the same effect that partisanship has had on our country.

All I am saying here is that if one takes a critical look at the facts and current thought trends in our nation, any prudent thinker would come to a similar conclusion to the one I have arrived at –Houston, we Have a problem!  Furthermore, we can also see that very few “unforced solutions” to the problem would work, unless the root cause of the problem is addressed first. For example, just take a quick look back at how well the “Bailout” worked as a “deficit reducing and jobs creation” agent.

I'm just saying...

If we truly want to solve our current problem, we must put “first things first” and change our pattern of thought. As Albert Einstein correctly deduced, “problems that are produced by current thinking cannot be effectively addressed with one’s current pattern-of-thought.” In other words, we need dynamic jobs creation which requires dynamic thought – not more of the same institutional memory.

Are you smellin’ what I am cookin'?

We need to change the way we look at things, if we want to experience meaningful change.

Okay now, let's take a look at the trillion dollar strategy which leverages this needed paradigm shift into a “Jobs Creation Force-Multiplier”.

Many of you are aware of the fact that, at 2:03 PM EST on September 27, 2010, Congress ratified the United States policy on contracting with America's small businesses (i.e., through the Jobs & Credit Act of 2010).

My considered experience tells me that what they actually did was:

  1. Vote to end the “Too Big To Fail” experiment;
  2. Shoot the Man behind the curtain (i.e., the Wizard Of Oz syndrome); and,
  3. Empower you with the ability to use maximum practicable utilization (e.g., to help shift the direction of America's economic performance beyond the measure of IM)...

Simply put, they took the hinges off the doors of small business contracting – knocked down all of the perceived remaining barriers and shifted the balance of power into the hands of the Small Business community!

That includes You, Your Brothers, Sisters and Your Neighbors – I think . . .

Therefore, if you truly want to participate in revitalizing our Nation's economic and social foundations acquiring Federal Contracts will be key to your success strategy.  Moreover, NOW is the time for you to go and get those contracts. Remember, the Jobs & Credit Act of 2010 means that yesterday was “then” and today is “now”. In short, there is nothing standing in your way – other than the need to change your thinking (i.e., get your BUT out of the way)!

What America needs today is a fearless and faithful nucleus of patriotic small business owners that have the audacity, I mean the unmitigated gall, to know that the following words have power:

"It is the policy of the United States that small business concerns . . . shall have the maximum practicable opportunity to participate in the performance of contracts let by any federal agency, including contracts and subcontracts for subsystems, assemblies, components, and related services for major systems." (source: Public Law 85-536, as amended)

Further:

"It is the declared policy of the Congress that the government should aid, counsel, assist, and protect, insofar as is possible, the interests of small business concerns in order to preserve free competitive enterprise..., and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of the Nation." (source: Public Law 85-536, as amended)

I, for one, get it!  What is the “it” that I get, you ask?

Simply put, if I, as a small business compete for an agency requirement – deliver the best-in-class-fit – and the contract is awarded to an “other than small business” – I can protest that award on the grounds that it violates the policy of the United States of America.

I can further compel that agency to reverse their action and make “said Requirement” available for competition among qualified small businesses.  And, – I am here to tell you that what Congress and this administration has done through the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010 is to endorse the tools that you need to enable this outcome.

WOW!

I have seen the essence of these words before, stated more directly, in any number of “Good Books'” (i.e. the Bible, the Bhagavad Gita, the Koran, A Course In Miracles, etc). Just like these writings, what the Small Business Jobs Act points to is the simple fact that in this contracting season "The Last Shall Be First".

Now it would simply be disingenuous to tell you that achieving the outcome that is promised by the policy of this great nation will come without a price. What I am telling you is that “all systems are go” for you to implement a strategy that helps our agencies comply with the Small Business Jobs Act of 2010. Consequently, you will have the ability to immediately start adding jobs in your business which will also materially contribute to our economic recovery. It’s a win-win strategy!!

I know – I know.  People say that I am a “complex writer”; I like to think of myself as a colorful thinker! That’s how I, along with the help of some key players, channeled SDVOSB energy into the powerhouse it is today!!

Anyhooooo....Here is your payoff!

Let me just spell out the Trillion Dollar Strategy this way:

  • Step One: Learn how to employ small business joint venturing and the creation of Affiliation Exempt Strategic Alliances as a capacity building force multiplier.
  • Step Two: Take this new capability and use it to go after “expiring bundled or consolidated contracts” that are owned by “other than small businesses” (that's right I said it).
  • Step Three: Take these contracts, from the “other than small business” incumbent, during the re-complete (that's right I said it again).
  • Step Four: Hire additional staff to support the new small business contract award.
  • Step Five: Using these new employees, develop a strategy for increasing the capacity of your small business (i.e., by leveraging technology and your joint venturing competency in the global village).
  • Step Six: Pay your fair share of taxes (i.e. federal, state and local).
  • Step Seven: Take Pride in the fact that you performed your patriotic duty; and finally,
  • Step Eight: Tell the next five generations of your family why you did what you did (e.g., so this lesson never gets lost again).

I know, I know.  This is a lot to get your head around; and, there are a number of basic implementation components that are required for success, which are just not a part of your typical knowledge base.

No worries patriot – I have you covered in four ways:

  • You can attend my training session at the 2011 National Veteran SB Conference and Expo (August 15-18th, 2011 in New Orleans, LA ); or
  • Attend my training session at the 93rd Annual American Legion National Convention (August 26-31st, 2011in Minneapolis, MI); or
  • Participate in the nation's first interactive Veteran Owned Small Business Online Jobs Creation Summit (August 29, 2011); or, last but not least,
  • You can become a member of the only source in North America that will be providing ongoing and end-to-end training on the trillion dollar jobs creation strategy (www.sdvosbnet.biz).

The choice is yours, but you need to know that everything that you just read is based on proven strategies – things that I have already done or helped others to do.

Now, it's your turn to become the solution that you have been looking for!

Can America count on you?
